Ty Beanie Babies Weenie the Dog Retired

Editorial Review

Hot dog, it’s Weenie! He was born on July 20, 1995. His poem reads: Weenie the dog is quite a sight. Long of body and short of height He perches himself high on a log And considers himself to be top dog! Weenie is a jaunty little fellow. He looks like a miniature version of a real dachshund, with his lovely brown coat and sweet little legs. Big ears cascade down his head like they’re flapping in the breeze. Brown eyes with black pupils are set into his face to look startlingly realistic. At the end of Weenie’s long muzzle is a shiny black nose. He is best of show. This popular and highly collectible guy is so great, you might just want to get two. Surface wash only. –Peggy Etra

Don’t people care about poetry anymore?! Dachsunds don’t even LIKE logs! They hardly ever want to go outside! Couldn’t the author at least have thought up “Couldn’t extricate himself from a bog” or “Stayed up all night refreshing your blog” or “Hates his workplace, because he’s just a cog” or “At my bachelorette, got wasted on grog” or “Wandered ten years in a grief-induced fog”? Also, his legs are way bloated. I’d retire him, too.
