My in-laws gave this to my 2-yr old daughter. The stethoscope made a lot of noise, often going off for no reason with the sound of a baby, rather than a beating heart, which I probably wouldn’t have minded as much. I put that part of it away from the set early. But what bothered me most about this set was that the paint comes off of it. My daughter often put the little bottle in her own mouth, as well as the thermometer, and I noticed within a very short period of time that the paint was coming off. There are lots of doctor sets out there. This is definitely not one of the better ones to choose.

I read the previous review and have concerns about the chipping paint as my daughter constantly has everything in her mouth. . . and with all the “Made in China” concerns going on right now, my concern is growing. These toys are just ‘designed’ in France. In addition, I read the description of the toys and it said that you can “hear the baby’s heartbeat” with the stethoscope. . . here’s what it does. . . it runs off of a couple small batteries and goes “bump-bump, bump-bump, bump-bump, laugh, laugh” – it is all automated by pushing a button. I was hoping that it was also like the children’s stethoscopes that I had seen where you can actually hear your own real heart beat too. But, no. You can’t. Big bummer. . . oh well, she seems to enjoy it anyways. Wish I was able to find a set that was more toddler friendly (ie no chipping paint or small parts) that had a working stethosope. On another note, my daughter has the Mon Premier doll by Corrolle for 18+ months and loves it! We got the bald one so that we didn’t have to worry about her eating the hair
