We chose this doll for our then-19 month old because we thought she’d have an easier time hauling around a 12 inch doll. That’s true, but after observing her with other dolls, I think she likes the bigger, heavier, more life-sized baby dolls better. From an objective standpoint, this is a fantastic doll. It’s “just the right size” for little toddler arms. Its soft but it will sit (kind of slumped) pretty well on a hard surface. It has been dropped in the mud, run over by the stroller, stomped on, “fed” macaroni and cheese, mouthed by the dogs, and it still looks great; I haven’t even had to wash it yet. The clothes are sweet and simple. (That’s a bunny holding a heart on the front of the shirt. ) We keep the headband off during regular use as it’s too easy to lose. It fits tightly and wouldn’t fall off on its own, but little fingers like to mess with it! The skin color is mocha, and the body fabric is brown. For some reason the dark body color surprised me – not sure why, because it makes sense, right? It’s supposed to be a Hispanic doll. This is a great doll for parents who want a brown-skinned, brown-eyed dolly. It’s not an African-American brown; it’s more Hispanic or Filipino. Of course, its features are still WASPy, but apparently it’s too much to ask doll manufacturers to mold a different head; different colors are already really hard to find!

I was SO excited waiting for this Corolle doll to arrive for my two tots. When I opened the box I was shocked at how different the doll looked in real life. I don’t think it looks nearly as cute as it does in the picture. The doll looks as if it has rings under its eyes and looks tired to me, the expression really bugs me. We own 8 other Corolle dolls and they are all adorable. Putting looks aside, this is a great little doll. The size is perfect for my 21 month old. It sits up nicely and can be toted around town easily. Corolle dolls are phthalate free which makes me a huge fan.
